For me, a good book must grab my attention early and maintain that level throughout. Digger's Bones by Paul Mansfield Keefe does just that plus it is very well written and very well researched. I liked the character development and therefore, look forward to Mr. Keefe's next novel which, I hope, will continue the adventures of archaeologist Angie Cooper
I highly recommend Digger's Bones to anyone who enjoys an intelligent high action thriller that is a real page turner.

Digger's Bones by Paul Keefe is an archeological thriller/mystery. Digger's Bones is the story of a previously disgraced archeologist - Angie Cooper - who sets out to discover a find that many people want to keep a secret. Before he is shot to death in a coffee shop, a friend of Angie's - Tarek "Digger" Rashid - tells her that a mutual archeologist friend of theirs is dead and she needs to go to a place they had been before to find out more about it.
This brief encounter begins an adventure that will take Angie and some "friends" to several countries. In the course of their travels, they will come in contact with many people both good and bad.
The book is fast paced and full of action with many plot twists that keep the reader guessing till the very end.
There is a kind of an "Indiana Jones" and "DaVinci Code" feeling to the book.
There is some (in my opinion) unnecessary vulgar language and a one paragraph "gratuitous sex scene" in the book.

Some archeological finds can have an enormous impact on the world. Is there ever a time when those finds should be kept from the public? Angie Cooper is faced with this dilemma. Along the way, she is sucked into a world of conspiracy and deceit that threatens much of what she thought she knew about herself, her friends and the world.
Digger's Bones is a fast-paced adventure. The biblical and historical facts interspersed throughout are well-researched and give a realistic feel to the story.
This book has a fascinating premise and would be perfect for a reading/discussion group.
